Training Camp: Day 2
Inside Story from Carolina Cobras Camp By:
Team Reporter DJ Wagner
GREENSBORO, NC - The word of the day going into day two of the 2022 Carolina Cobras Training Camp was IMPROVE.
After day one of camp the night before, the goal for the Saturday morning practice was to see how well things that were installed were absorbed the next day. The day started with more individual work, as the players start to embrace more of the ironman philosophy. One thing is very apparent, and that is the players are buying in, and you can just see how much information is being exchanged from the players to help each other. To see the DBs give advice to the WRs and the WRs returning the favor. To watch the linemen on both sides of the ball comparing notes.
For the second half of the practice today it started out with Offensive Coordinator James Fuller working with the offense on reviewing plays from the night before, as well as installing more of the offense. This was an absolute clinic for the players in attendance. As far as the QB competition goes, it was a great day for all three vying for the starting spot and I do not envy the coaching staff when final decisions have to be made. When it came time for the DBs to run against the WRs, there were a lot of stalemates, but there were also some great plays made on both sides of the ball.
We got a few seconds with Head Coach Resignalo on his thoughts about day two of practice and he said “Another good day, really excited with what we have out here. We have a pretty good squad that is shaping up really good. They have improved from last night’s practice and that is all we are trying to do, get better each day. Overall, we will be back at it for day three tomorrow, just trying to put it together.”
So, the second day is now complete, we are just seven days away from the Cobra Fan Festival 2022 at Baxter’s Tavern at 536 Farragut St. Greensboro NC on April 16 from 2-6pm where you will be able to meet the players, there will also be free food from our friends at Sam’s Club, and this event is sponsored by Amber Smith, State Farm Agent as State Farm celebrates their 100th Anniversary.
