Jacksonville Sharks Announce 2020 Open Tryout

JACKSONVILLE – The 2019 National Arena League Champion Jacksonville Sharks have announced that they will be hosting an open tryout. This single day event will be held Saturday, March 7th, 2020 at the Episcopal School of Jacksonville. The Sharks 2020 season is fast approaching with the season opener set for Saturday, April 4th against the West Virginia Roughriders. Jacksonville’s home opener will kickoff Saturday, April 25th against the Massachusetts Pirates. Before beginning the 2020 season, the Sharks will enter training camp on March 16th and look to finalize their official roster. Prior to training camp, the Sharks will hold a single tryout that is open to the public.  Athletes must be 18 or older and be ready to showcase their abilities. Any player that signs up will have the opportunity to tryout for a roster position with the number one team in the National Arena League. Any player(s) that make the grade will be invited to the Sharks 2020 training camp for a chance to make the regular season roster.  

Interested athletes can visit jaxsharks.com where they will see a sign up box. Click the box and then select the link titled, click here to sign up. The online form will come up, please fill out completely. Anyone who registers online will have the option to pay the $65 online pre-registration fee or you can pay the $75 walk-up registration fee on the day of the tryout. Cash or credit cards only, no checks will be accepted.  Tryouts will begin at 8:30am with walk up registration at Episcopal School of Jacksonville (4455 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, FL, 32207). Each player will sign a waiver agreement before they can proceed with the tryout. Starting at 9am the Jacksonville Sharks will begin the workout with a range of drills to measure athletic ability including the 40-yard dash and shuttle run. In addition, there will be position specific drills for players to showcase their skills to the Sharks coaching staff. 

Tryouts will officially end once each player has been evaluated by head coach James Fuller and his coaching staff.
