Flight Sign All-Arena DB Tevin Homer
TRENTON, NJ - Former All-Arena DB Tevin Homer has signed with the Jersey Flight. Homer won ArenaBowl 32 with the Albany Empire in 2019. He began his professional career in the NFL with Washington in 2017.
“Tevin is a guy that I got to play against in the AFL,” Flight Defensive Coach Alvin Ray Jackson said. “Plenty of talent, plenty of upside. And it showed because he was rewarded with an All-Arena call last year. He is a long DB with range and IQ, fits in to what we wanna do perfectly. I can’t wait to get him out there so he can show what he is capable of,” Jackson said.
Homer played at Florida Atlantic in college and was teammates with Flight OL Jakobi Smith. Homer and Smith are both from Florida and played for the Empire in 2019. Washington signed Homer after an impressive tryout. His combination of size and speed impressed the team. He went on to sign with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2018.
Homer began his arena football career in 2019 with Albany. During his time in New York’s capital, Homer recorded four interceptions and led the AFL with 110 tackles. He was named to second team All-Arena during his rookie year.
