The Carolina Cobras announce the signing of DB/WR Joel Ross
Joel Ross (5’10” 190, Appalachian State) was a two-year starter in college, where he had 95 tackles, nine passes defended, one sack and three interceptions in those two years. Ross was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free-agent and was a final day cut but played in the pre-season and had two tackles vs Minnesota. Ross was then picked up by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their practice squad and eventually signed to a futures contract. Next stop was the Chicago Bears, where he had a tackle in a pre-season game vs New England, after he was released, he moved on to the CFL, signing with Hamilton where he played three games. In those games he combined for three tackles and had one interception that he returned for a TD against Montreal.
