Jacksonville Sharks to host Open Player Tryout

Opentryout2019

Opportunity to play for the Sharks set for March 16

JACKSONVILLE – As the National Arena League season is quickly approaching, the Sharks are looking to add some talent to their 2019 roster. This season the Sharks will be celebrating their decade of dominance as they honor their 10th year as a franchise and prepare to make a run for another National Arena League Championship.

Last season, the Sharks finished as one of the top teams in the NAL, earning a spot in the 2018 NAL playoffs. Despite their successful regular season, the Sharks lost to the Carolina Cobras in Greensboro, NC during the playoff round. The Carolina Cobras advanced and won the 2018 National Arena League Championship. With 2018, in the rear view mirror and the 2019 NAL season ahead the Sharks are out for blood and looking to take back the title as National Arena League Champions. If you have what it takes to take your talents to the turf and help the Jacksonville Sharks win another league championship, then don’t miss this open tryout opportunity.

Since becoming the Head Coach of the Jacksonville Sharks, no coach before him in Sharks history has taken advantage of the open tryout process quite like Burley. Coach Burley has consistently signed both local and out of state talents through this open tryout process. During his two seasons under the helm, former Sharks Wide Receiver / Return Specialist Wyatt Griffith, Wide Receiver / Defensive Back Marquel Wade, and Quarterback Mosses Skillon all were signed through the open tryout process within the last two seasons. In additions, big names in the NAL including Second Team All-NAL Kicker Henry Nell had been discovered and entered training camp with the Sharks through the open tryout process. Last season, Coach Burley even invited Action News JAX Reporter and renowned local flag football talent Marcel Robinson. Although, Robinson fell short from a training camp invite, he did receive a media pass for the 2018 season. Robinson decision to return for 2019 Open Tryouts has yet to be determined.
