Week Seventeen Preview: Mammoths vs. Lions

Week17 Preview Mammoths

Mammoths look to Crush Lions in Rematch

PORTLAND- The Maine Mammoths (5-8) travel to Columbus, Georgia to take on the Columbus Lions (8-5) for the teams’ third matchup. The first game between the Mammoths and Lions ended up being a Lions win with a 55-34 score. Two weeks ago in Maine, the Mammoths defeated the Lions in overtime 42-41.

The Mammoths put a beating on the 0-13 Lehigh Valley Steelhawks last week in Portland, Maine as the Mammoths put up 50 points and allowed only 14 points. Quarterback Jonathan Bane was 14-of-33 for 170 yards, four touchdowns, and one touchdown. Wide Receiver Devin Wilson had a great game, catching seven passes for 76 yards and two touchdowns. Rob Brown continued his streak of touchdowns to three games in a row as he had 91 yards and two touchdowns on six catches.

The Mammoths shook the NAL standings versus the Lions two weeks ago, as they took the Lions down from the number one spot all the way down to the number three spot. Since then, the Sharks gave the Lions another blemish on their record but still remains in third. If the Mammoths win this weekend, it could bump the Lions down to fourth place and knock them out of hosting a playoff game in the first round of the 2018 NAL season.

Saturday's game will be shown on YouTube Live and will be posted on the team’s social media pages. That will provide all the information on how to watch the game live on your phone or your computer.

The next Mammoths game is on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 7:00 pm (ET) at the Cross Insurance Arena as they take on the number two Jacksonville Sharks (9-5) for 80’s Night/Fan Appreciation Night.
