Ohio Wesleyan receiver fights for spot on roster
JACKSONVILLE- Wyatt Griffith (5’9,180) was signed to the Jacksonville Sharks training camp roster following his performance from the Sharks local open tryout in Fruit Cove, FL on March 10, 2018.
Griffith attended Ohio Wesleyan University. In 2016, Griffith played in nine games. In those nine games, Griffith rushed eight times for 44 yards. He also caught 13 passes for 152 yards and one touchdown. From 2014-2015 Griffith played for Lake Erie College where he served as a defensive back and kick returner for the storm. Griffith returned five kicks for 75 yards his freshman year.
Griffith is a native of Cape Coral, Florida and played high school football at Ida Baker High School. During his career at Ida Baker High School he played defensive back, wide receiver, and was kick returner. During his high school career he totaled 83 tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery on defensive. On offense he rushed 11 times for 143 yards, as well racking up four receptions for 36 yards. As a kick returner, Griffith returned eight kicks for 174 yards, his longest went for 80 yards.
