Texas Southern Lineman joins the Herd

PORTLAND- Derrick Lyles (6’2, 285) signs with the Maine Mammoths for his first year of arena football.  

Lyles played college football at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. Lyles was a TSU Tiger from 2014-2017 and finished his college playing career with 59 total tackles, 5.5 pass deflections and two sacks.

Lyles is a native of Wesson, Mississippi and played high school football at Wesson High School where he played tight end and linebacker. On the defensive side of the ball, Lyles finished his high school career with 214 total tackles, three sacks and two fumble recoveries.
