GREENSBORO – The Carolina Cobras of the National Arena League announced their inaugural 2018 team schedule. This year marks the first season in teams history since joining the National Arena League earlier this year. The 2018 schedule fits the April to August window with a postseason format that will result in two first-round playoff games, followed by a bye week before the NAL championship game, scheduled fit the time frame of August 25-27. The Cobras will begin the 2018 season with their first ever home game in team history against the defending NAL Champions the Jacksonville Sharks Saturday, April 7 at the Greensboro Coliseum, in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Sharks are projected to be top team in 2018, finishing their Championship Year 13-1. The Cobras first road game will be the following weekend against the Maine Mammoths Saturday, April 14 in Portland Maine. The Mammoths joined the Cobras as one of three new expansions teams that are entering their first season in the NAL.
The Cobras are scheduled to have eight homes games this year at the Greensboro Coliseum with the final regular season home game scheduled for Saturday, August 4 against the Columbus Lions. The Cobras will also have seven away games this year including two road games against the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks, a top NAL team that finished the 2017 season 9-2 and appeared in the NAL Semi-Finals against the Columbus Lions.
The new schedule will allow the Cobras to play each NAL team at least twice with three bye weeks before postseason play.
