Carolina sign Rookie Defensive End Omari Manhertz-Rookie Lineman suits up for Cobras


GREENSBORO – Omari Manhertz (6’4, 255) enters his first year of arena football after getting a taste of the NFL with Carolina Panthers and New York Giants.

In 2017, Manhertz went undrafted but was quickly picked up by the NFL scouts. Prior the the 2017 NFL season, Manhertz entered rookie mini-camp for both the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants. Manhertz spent his college career at American International College a Division II school in Springfield, Massachusetts. After he redshirted his freshman year, Manhertz produced 98 tackles and 14.5 sacks in his 31 games for the Yellow Jackets.

Manhertz is a native of Bronx, N.Y. and played football and basketball at Mount Saint Michael High School. During his high school football career he led his team to a city championship and earned All-League Honors.
